Came across this video today which explains quite nicely how to really drive traffic to your site using Twitter. As Twitter is underated in my opinion I want to try and share with you how to really get some decent traffic to your site using this free social media site. Can I suggest you try out this simple technique and see how much extra traffic you could get.

Heres something else interesting I found myself reading today. I wanted to learn more into LinkedIn and how to market yourself on this social media site. As we all know every social media site is different and mastering one doesn’t neccesarilly mean you’ve mastered them all.

This is something form Dan Zarrella who researches this kind of stuff and shows it in effect.

The infographic below shows the 20 most connected common words (and the 20 least connected words) found in titles and summaries. The vertical axis is the percentage more (or fewer) connections profiles using those words had compared to the average in my dataset.

Google has launched its brand pages on its social networking site Google+, just like Facebook pages which im sure you’ll be familiar with. You can now create a professional presence on Google+ for brands, companies, groups and anything else.

They look very similar to the normal Google+ profiles, there is a little quare icon that designates its a page rather than a profile.

But the question is are they really better than Facebook pages? Because if they are its really quite something you should be getting onto for your business… I was reading this article over at mashable where they give four reasons why they are better.

Click here to read that article

It provided some great insight into why you should be getting yourself onto Google+ and getting a page, it certainly isnt as big as Facebook yet but defiantly stirring things up for Facebook.

Today I found myself watching a presentation by Rob Moore who is co founder of Progressive Property and has made alot of money by marketing his rather impressive property portfolio online.

outsource Outsourcing Can I Get Someone Else to Do It?

His presentation was great, it drilled down into the facts of how to really ramp up your marketing and what I found most intresting was when he said that you have to ask yourself one question before you start with something “Can I get someone else to do it?”

If you think about it, the most successful people in the world still only have 24 hours in a day, Alan Sugar, Richard Branson, Bill Gates… They all have 24 hours in a day, if they were to do every single task in their businesses then it would be little short of superhuman to say the least. What they do is they get people to do some, or alot of their work for them so they can focus on the main income producing parts of their businesses. This I thought was a great point to make as when you start thinking of marketing online you think of all the tasks at hand and what needs to be done, and sure you’ll be doing a great job at them. However if its not producing results then your going to go downhill and soon you’ll feel disheartened and possibly even quit…

Simple tasks like SEO, PPC, Article Creation, Syndication are all examples of things you can get someone else to do for you… And the amount it costs will be made up by the extra time you can now spend on producing income.

So really the base of this blog post today is to ask yourself if in your business their is a task that takes a bit of time and could be given to someone else to do, and how much more time would that free up over a month to increase the income of your business?

Let us know what you think in the comments box below.

Here are some videos I seriously suggest you spend some time to sit down and watch. In this presentation Daniel Pink gets you thinking and demonstartes how to profit in this information age that you are going to need “A Whole New Mind”

Enjoy!

Heres something interesting Id like to share from a guy called Dan Zarrella who researches into how social media works and how we can improve our results were getting.

Tweets usually have a link placed at the end of them, and you would think this is the bets place to have a link so not many people will think about this. However what if placing it somewhere else in your tweets got you more clicks? That would defiantly be a bonus.

He tested this in a specific way which im sure he explains alot better in his original post but basicly after getting data from 200,000 random tweets he managed to put together a rather cool heat map to demonstrate the optimal place for links to be placed in your tweets.

Check it out below and be sure to try it out the next time your putting some tweets together.

As every website owner does, I found myself looking at SEO companies and how to get my site ranking highly in the search engines, but when you get a quote from these compaines I was blown away at how much some of them charge. Simply it wasn’t an option…

So then I started to look at SEO and how it works and wondering how I could do it myself, which is when I came across a site called SEO Scheduler

SEOsced SEO Scheduler Review Step By Step, Do It Yourself SEO

All this site does is you pay a small monthly fee ($9.95 for 1 site) and they tell you what to do and when to do it with step by step instructions on how and where to place links, get reviews, building targeted content, really everything a SEO company would do but at a much cheaper price. A myth is that small businesses cannot compete online for competitive keywords, however this just isnt true. Also added to SEO sceduler are a number of tools to evaluatye your website and see how its ranking for your targeted keywords in a click of a button.

Google Places Logo Wide1 3 Ways To Optimize Your Google Places Listing

I have been looking at Google Places recently and how to really get your listing to the top of your local search, I discovered that there are 3 ways in which you can really optimize your listing, and here they are…

1. Presence

Google will look for how many times your business shows up all over the web, so make sure you have got your business listed in directories and have some form of social presence. It is important that all information remains consistent throughout so that Google will recognise your business and rank it highly. If your business has high competition then you will need a bigger presence than in a uncompetitive area of business.

 2. Links

As with websites it is essential in order to rank highly for your keywords that you have links pointing to your site. With Google Places it is the same and you should look to build 30 – 50 links to your listing. You can do this by your social media sites such as Faceook, Twitter and Linked In. However you will want to get links pointing to your sites from other areas of the web so looking at sites such as fiverr.com to purchase links to your listing is reccomended.

3. Reviews

To really ramp up your listing you need to get people to review your business on Google Places. To get a start rating you will need 5 reviews, however if the competition is high you may need alot more. You could do this by asking your loyal customers to do this for you to start off with.

If you have your own website then you are able to help your listing even more, make sure that you have links coming from important local business sites such as the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and, the Federation of Small Businesses. You will have to pay for some of these but the investment will pay off in dividends for optimizing your Google Places listing.

If your unsure about Google Places and want to get your business listed then I can help, check out my page on Google Places for more information.
